Mitsubishi Recognized for Its Empowerment of Women Workers
Workplace diversity can be one of the most valuable strengths that a company possesses. Different perspectives can result in new ideas and strong strategies. That’s why Mitsubishi is so committed to increasing the diversity of its workforce.
These efforts were recently recognized, as Mitsubishi earned a position as an MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index constituent.
The MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index, or WIN for short, examines efforts by several Japanese companies to make the workplace a more welcoming and healthy environment for women. Mitsubishi has now been recognized by the organization for two years in a row, demonstrating the automaker’s commitment to making the workplace a better environment for women workers.
Roughly five years ago in July of 2014, Mitsubishi launched the Diversity Promotion Policy. This policy not only worked to make the workplace an improved environment for women but other groups of diverse workers as well. Mitsubishi followed the Act on the Promotion of Female Participation and Career Advancement in the Workplace for its women workforce in particular. This helped facilitate more time off for new and expecting mothers, as well as on-site facilities geared toward the female workers at Mitsubishi.
Mitsubishi plans to introduce new diversity efforts in the next upcoming years, and we here at Larry Jay Mitsubishi are certainly proud of these initiatives.
