North Carolina has its fair share of pools and beaches, but there’s nothing quite like a waterpark. If you’re looking for a fun day trip to take in your new Mitsubishi from us here at Larry Jay Mitsubishi, the first place you drive to should be the Wet N Wild waterpark in Greensboro. Just an hour or so away from Charlotte, this venue will have the whole family keeping cool and happy in the summertime.
Featuring over 36 different water slides and rides sprawling over 42 acres, Wet N Wild hosts year-round events, is great for accommodating groups and birthday parties, and even lets visitors rent their own private cabana for the day. Older swimmers will enjoy adrenaline-pumping rides like the devil’s drop, while the kids can splash and play in Leisure Lagoon, Splash Island, and Shipwreck Cove.
Curb your hunger and quench your thirst onsite with tasty fare like turkey legs and ice cream. Before you head home, stop by the gift shop to grab some souvenirs to help commemorate your visit.

Now that you’re a proud new owner of a reliable, capable, and fun, Mitsubishi, it’s time to mituplan some road trips. After all, there’s no better way to get to know your new car than taking it along for a day trip with family or friends. Pack a picnic, put on your hiking boots, and get together your hiking companions for a drive out to the Twin Trestle Trail.
The Twin Trestle Trailhead is just about an hour away from Charlotte, North Carolina. At just over three miles both ways, it’s a short enough hike to enjoy on a casual day trip, and even works well with kids if they’re adventurous. It’s a good trail for a wide range of skill levels, and is open all year. Twin Trestle Trail is also dog-friendly, as long as your pet is on a leash.
This particular hike in North Carolina gets its name from the trestles left behind from the Norfolk Southern Railroad. The trail follows the path of a river, and architectural trestles remain from where the railroad bridge crossed the river. The structures are interesting and beautiful, and the hike itself crosses some fun paths like a swinging suspension bridge. Twin Trestle Trail is a great place to enjoy birdwatching, or to spot wildlife, so plan to enjoy a leisurely stroll on this gorgeous North Carolina hike.

When a new car is born, a new advertising campaign is born as well. It’s one of the best and most efficient ways to spread the news about a fresh addition to the lineup. Mitsubishi recently shared some information about its upcoming ad campaign for the all-new Eclipse Cross.
The campaign is called “A Classic Reborn,” an apt title considering the circumstances surrounding the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, a crossover that slots between the Mitsubishi Outlander and the Outlander Sport models. While its design may be new, its name is not. The original Mitsubishi Eclipse was a beloved sports sedan that was discontinued a few years back.
But the new Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross was designed to meet more current needs. It’s still sporty in performance and appearance, but can accommodate lifestyles that require additional benefits of a crossover. That’s what Mitsubishi intends to share in its “A Classic Reborn” ad campaign, which will appear on its YouTube Channel and major television networks. Violin and piano play “I Wanna Rock” by Twisted Sister over shots of the Eclipse Cross driving in the night. The mysterious ad will engage the attention of viewers, letting them know that there’s a new Mitsubishi in town.
If you want a happy life with a nice home, good jobs and schools, beautiful scenery, and a high quality of life, you might be inclined to look at the “2018 Best Places to Live” list put together by U.S. News & World Report. If you do take a look, you’ll see that this year’s list includes five North Carolina cities. We couldn’t be prouder!
The highest ranked North Carolina city was Raleigh-Durham, which earned a spot at 13. Charlotte was close behind as number 22, with Asheville on its tail at number 24. Winston-Salem came in at number 43 and Greensboro at number 60.
Some of the biggest factors that go into creating the “Best Places to Live” list include affordability and quality of life. People value finding cities where nice homes are available in a reasonable price range, but they also want areas that are filled with social events, entertainment, delicious restaurants, and lively bars. Each of these North Carolina cities has its own share of qualities that many people look for in a home community. We’re curious about what next year’s list will bring, but we feel confident that Charlotte will continue to be a cherished metropolitan area.
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution was one of the most beloved Mitsubishi models. This sports sedan had a big following, but it wasn’t enough to keep it in production. The last Evo rolled off the line in 2016. However, we have learned that there is a chance the Mitsubishi Evo is coming back, but in a new form.
Recently, in an interview with Motor1, Mitsubishi’s UK managing director, Lance Bradley, indicated that the Evo nameplate could make a comeback. If it did make a return, he claimed that it would be different than the previous Evo models.
“Our focus is on SUVs and electrified drivetrains, but it’s possible that there could be an option for a more performance-orientated version of one of the models,” Bradley elaborated. “The hybrid market is still developing, but an electric drivetrain is usually quicker than an internal combustion powertrain, so you can have some very exciting electrified drivetrains.”
Bradley went on to say that Evo fans are very attached to the model’s name. If Mitsubishi did resurrect the Evo moniker, it would need to be very careful with its choice. We would expect to see something spectacular that would be true to this ride’s heritage.
While most of us want to drive fuel-efficient cars, they often come with a big price premium, especially fuel-efficient crossovers. That isn’t the case with the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.
The Outlander PHEV is an affordable plug-in hybrid that costs a lot less than its luxury hybrid counterparts, even before any tax incentives are considered. Even with its low cost, the Outlander PHEV comes well-equipped with features including leather seating, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ compatibility, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, Bluetooth® connectivity, and heated front seats.
It is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a pair of 60-kilowatt electric motors. Combined, the hybrid powertrain has an output of 197 horsepower. When fully charged, Mitsubishi says the Outlander PHEV has an electric driving range of 22 miles. Recharging can be done in a variety of ways, but when using DC fast-charging, you can get up to an 80% charge in less than half an hour.
The Outlander PHEV also comes standard with Super All-Wheel Control for superior handling in all road conditions. Inside, the cabin offers seating for five passengers with plenty of room for cargo in the rear.

Having working, clear headlights is important year round, but it’s especially necessary in the wintertime, when it gets dark earlier and inclement weather can seriously hurt visibility. Follow these tips on headlight maintenance to make your car as safe as possible this season.
If you have a burnt out headlight, it should be easy to replace it yourself. How to access the bulb will depend on what kind of car you have (usually it’s through the hood), but you can find this information in your owner’s manual or even look up a guide online to help you replace it.
You don’t have to wait until your headlight burns out to replace it! You can tell when a headlight is getting weaker by examining it. If one side is brighter than the other or there are any other defects or irregularities, it’s time to change it. You should always replace headlights in pairs to avoid creating an uneven field of vision where one light is dimmer than the other.
Cleaning the cover on your headlights is also important! The covers can get dirty and foggy, which reduces visibility. Soap might not do the trick with caked on dirt, so using toothpaste can help thanks to the grit in it. Just put it on a cloth and use it like you would soap, and then rinse the headlight.
Most drivers make sure to keep their car clean but many forget about one of the most important safety systems: the headlights. Like the rest of the care, the headlights need tender loving care to operate at peak efficiency. Here’s a page all about headlights from us here at Larry Jay Mitsubishi. Drive safe this holiday season!
How to Replace a Bulb
To begin replacing a burnt out bulb, start by checking the owner’s manual to see what kind of bulb you need. If your owner’s manual doesn’t list this information, call a service department and ask.
Once you have the bulb, open the hood and locate the back of the headlight. From there, remove the power wires attached to a plug at the base of the headlights. Remove the old bulb. Finally, install the new bulb.
How to Clean the Lenses
Headlight lenses experience oxidization that cause a cloudy look. Cleaning them is relatively simple. First, gather car soap, masking tape, a soft cloth, toothpaste, and water.
Start by cleaning the lenses with the car soap and let them air dry. If they still look cloudy, cover the surrounding areas with masking tape. Add toothpaste to a damp, soft cloth and firmly rub your headlights in small circles.
Clean each headlight for up to five minutes, then rinse them with water and let them air dry. Add car wax to avoid future damage.
When to Use High Beams
It’s safe to use high beams when no other cars are coming towards you. High beams should always be used outside of cities and in rural areas provided there isn’t any oncoming traffic. Turn off your high beams when closing in on another vehicle.
