It’s no surprise that Mitsubishi Motors is placing its focus on SUVs and crossovers. The brand has found a lot of success with its affordable, well-equipped models, including the latest Eclipse Cross, which sold over 80,000 units globally just within its first year. Now, it seems Mitsubishi’s SUV lineup is growing once again.
At the Geneva International Motor Show in March, Mitsubishi has plans to unveil its latest SUV design. It has released a teaser image of the new model, which it has dubbed the Engelberg Tourer, after the famous Swiss winter resort. The image is a dark picture of the front end that highlights some bold LED light designs next to the grille and on the roof.
One thing that will help make this new model stand out from the crowd is its electric powertrain. In 2017, Mitsubishi showed off an electric concept called the e-Evolution Concept. It’s possiblethat this design could be a hint of what we could see from the Engelberg Tourer.
The e-Evolution was powered using three advanced electric motors and a high-capacity battery system. It also came with all-wheel drive, active yaw control, and torque vectoring. Perhaps we will see these features in Mitsubishi’s new model.
The Engleberg Tourer isn’t available yet, but you can check out the rest of Mitsubishi’s SUVs at Larry Jay Mitsubishi.
