New Outlander Design Revealed at New York Auto Show
The refreshed 2016 model of the Mitsubishi Outlander could not be debuting at a more perfect time. Mitsubishi just recently announced that they will stop producing sedans and focus solely on SUVs for the foreseeable future. It helps, therefore, that the new Outlander is an outstanding SUV.
The excellence starts on the outside, too, with an all-new design that takes many cues from the Outlander PHEV Concept-S that debuted back at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The front grille is all-new, with an X-shaped grille and a glossy black panel for visual contrast. We saw an unofficial teaser image of the Outlander online, but the new Outlander is on display at the New York Auto Show from April 2nd onward.
The new Outlander design doesn’t just share the PHEV Concept’s skin, though. In an effort to give customers more fuel-efficiency—and more options overall—the Outlander will come as a plug-in hybrid model as well here in the States for the first time.
